Pentecost Sunday 2013
May 19thb was Pentecost Sunday and what a spirit filled day it was at New Hope! We had four children receive their first Holy Communion and of the four, Lloyd Frazier was also baptized!!

Crab & Shrimp Feast 2012
The Capital Campaign Committee sponsored a fund raiser to Atlantic City, NJ and Baltimore, MD. The red carpet was rolled out by chairperson, Grace Cohen and the fun and fellowship began on Friday, August 3 and finished Saturday, August 4, 2012. A wonderful time was had by all and we thank God that we were successful in our endeavor!

New Hope Expansion Dedication
This was truly a day of praise and thanksgiving! Folks traveled from near and far including our past pastors The Rev. Dr. James R. Thomas and The Rev. Brenda K. Smith who were our guest speakers at the 10:00 a.m. service and the 4:00 p.m. services respectively. If you weren't there you really missed a wonderful day at New Hope!

The Temple Within You - 2012
Twelve women traveled to Koinonia Conference Center on Thursday evening April 26, 2012 and returned safely to New Hope on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
The group had a wonderful time with events which included a healing service, daily devotional services twice a day, a relaxation workshop, massages and "be good to yourself time".
We enjoyed movie time (after the days scheduled events) which lasted late into the night for those who wanted to participate completed with fresh popcorn! Our last night we had snacks which included guacamole with chips, summer sausage, cheese, rice cakes and an assortment of other goodies!

We had a beautiful day as we walked through south east Queens distributing literature to combat domestic violence. We believe that at least one life was saved with God's grace and our efforts.

Lobster Fest 2010
The Capital Campaign Committee hosted another fabulous fund raising 2 day trip to Connecticut. Included in thre trip was:
- a stop at Foxwoods casino with a bonus game and free buffet lunch.
- a wine & cheese party upon arriving at the beautiful Hampton Inn
- an all-you-can-eat lobster fest with steaks prepared to your liking, shrimp, salad, veggies, lobsters, crab legs and a scrumptous dessert bar at world famous "Crusty's" where the hospitality and service was phenomenal!
- deluxe breakfast at the Hampton Inn
- a stop at Moheghan Sun casino with onus play and free buffet lunch.

3rd Annual Prayer Breakfast
The Capital Campaign Committe held their 3rd Annual Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, June 19,2010. The theme was "There Is Joy In Prayer" and the speaker was New Hope's own Deacon anita Williams. The breakfast was scrumptous and the fund raiser was well attended.

Men's Ministry Picnic 2010
The Men's Ministry hosted a fabulously filling picnic on June 27th as only they can do! There was a wonderful menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, sausages, grilled & bar-b-q chicken, macaroni salad, tossed salad, yellow rice, watermelon and assorted ice cream! It was a wonderful day of fellowship and laughter for all.

"Fall Festival"
Capital Campaign held their 1st"Fall Festival" on October 18, 2008. There were vendors selling jewelry, Tupperware, Mary Kay, gently used clothing, books, stereo equipment, household items and much more.....the biggest hit; chicken and fish dinners with collard greens, mac & cheese, potato salad or peas & rice. There were also chicken and fish sandwiches and home made cakes and pies, yum!

35th Anniversary Service
New Hope celebrated 35 years of ministry with a spirit filled service on September 21st. A wonderful luncheon was served before the service and after the nutrition was received, souls were fed through song and word by all of the New Hope choirs; the speaker was our Interim Pastor, Rev. Dr. Lee Wesley. Rev. Dianne Loufman, assistant to Bishop Rimbo brought greetings.

"FAREWELL PR. SMITH"
New Hope Lutheran Church, friends, family, clergy & community came from near and far to bid Rev. Brenda K. Smith farewell and God's speed on August 31, 2008. Rev. Smith has accepted the call to the ELCA as the new Direcetor of Discipleship. There was a tremendous celebration following her final service as pastor.
